Jen Nicolazzo, Author

A native to the East Coast, Jen has been calling the beautiful Northwest her home now since 2002. A mom of two, she feels lucky to be creative everyday even when not getting paid for it. An advertising copywriter for over 15 years writing ads about wine, cars, coffee, shoes, fly fishing rods; you name it, she now works as a freelance writer and enjoys new projects like writing her first children’s book. When not wrangling children or words, you’ll find Jen out in nature, traveling with her husband and kids, playing the guitar, and drinking good coffee in Portland, Oregon.

Always an animal lover, Jen found it easy to choose a subject for her first book, First Child. The hero of her book, her chocolate lab Norm, had been her buddy for 15 years, and gives her plenty to write about. Stay tuned for his next adventure!

Kinga Martin, Illustrator

Kinga Martin is a watercolor artist and children’s book illustrator. Martin was born in Poland, and spent many years in Italy before immigrating to the United States. Martin’s early exposure to art was something that she couldn’t escape. Coming from a talented family, Martin was accustomed to creativity. Her skills were always appreciated by her teachers and even though she did not choose to study art, she was always driven to paint.

Martin opened her studio in 2016, starting with an Etsy store called Kingarooart, offering pets and people portraits at first. She then turned her subjects to the colorful world of nature, where there is no limitation for imaginative minds. Martin depicts many aspects of nature, with her main subjects being birds. Her artwork shows high attention to detail, vibrant, saturated colors and whimsical pen work.

Martin lives in Easthampton Ma, with her husband, where she creates artwork and illustrates books in her Kingarooart studio.
